For a couple of years now, I have gotten occasional requests to make a bracelet for the opera Norma. Not too surprising, it is pretty well known, even though it doesn’t seem to be performed a lot.

So it was on my “Long List” of future bracelets to make.

Then in January, two different people both asked me about Norma in the course of a week. I thought to myself, “maybe it’s time to move Norma up the list?” Then I saw that LA Opera and a few other places planned to perform Norma this season, so I put Norma on the “Short List” for my summer design session.

It’s my pleasure to present the final product. I couldn’t have asked for more juicy elements to work with: from the delicacy of the sacred mistletoe, the raging finale fire, Ancient Rome, Druids, etc. Then there’s the EMOTION: regret, love, fury, desperation…
