Part of the "Inspired by…" series, the Bluebeard's Keys Bracelet is inspired by Bartok's symbolic supernatural opera, Bluebeard's Castle. Beautiful Judith is Duke Bluebeard's new wife; she is coming to his castle for the first time. In the dark hall, seven locked doors block out the light. Each in its turn is opened...the mysterious contents revealed until, (spoilers) Judith herself must enter the last door forever.
Seven key charms represent the opening of the mysterious doors. I chose deep red beads evoke the blood that covers items in nearly all the rooms....
When I was "learning opera" and read the synopsis of this opera for a first time, I immediately had the vision for this bracelet with all the keys long before I had ideas for some of the more oft performed operas. It was a pleasure to bring it to fruition!
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
