This bracelet is inspired by the seductive aria "Mon cœur s'ouvre à ta voix" from the Saint-Saens opera Samson and Delilah.
Delilah sings that hearing Samson's voice has made her heart open like a flower to the sun. It does not very much imagination to see what she is suggesting and Samson cannot resist her, leading to his downfall.
Colors of deep red and purple suggest passion and seduction. Hints of black indicate Samson's dark fate (literally dark). Small pewter hearts and flowers reflect the words of the aria. I chose a flower charm that particularly had a sense of opening or unfurling... to the sun as Delilah says. A caged heart indicates Samson's entrapment through love. A dagger indicates the shearing of his hair.
All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.
