This bracelet is inspired by the Act 4 aria of the main character in Adriana Lecouvreur by Cilea.

The violets given in love and now faded have been returned to Adriana. Saddened at this reminder of rejection by Maurizio, Adriana sings "poor flowers" before she tosses them in the fire. She is unaware that the poisoned flowers have come from the jealous princess and will cause her death.

Beads and crystals in purple and blue-violet symbolize the fatal flowers. A violet charm symbolizes Adriana's affection and a heart charm is Maurizio who receives the flowers in love. A key charm represents Adriana's kindness to the Princess for Maurizio's sake. Glass hearts and tiny flowers further the theme.

All "Inspired By..." Series Bracelets come with a card that identifies the symbolism of the charms and colors used.

    Beautiful bracelet

    Posted by Natacha on 02 28 2019

I recently watched Adriana Lecouvreur for the first time and it is now one of my favorite operas. This bracelet is a beautiful purple and captures some of the key elements of the opera. It also stretches to fit any wrist size and is comfortable on the wrist. A wonderful gift for an opera fan!
