The Martyrs

The story of the Martyrs of Compiègne and their deep spirituality, as well as the spirituality of the Carmelite order in general, has always spoken to my heart. This beautiful bracelet perfectly captures the spirituality of the Order, as well as the exquisite bravery and love exhibited by the Martyrs of Compiègne as they met their end. For me this bracelet is a wonderful reminder of the bravery and love we are all called to. It would have been easy to focus on the macabre and the gory for this bracelet, and create something to be worn on Hallowe'en to celebrate exactly the opposite of what the Martyrs portrayed, but instead Cindy too the more difficult and beautiful path. Her bracelet is a celebration of the sacrifice of women who lived for something greater than themselves. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the quality of the beads and the overall beauty of the bracelet. Even without the deep sentiment the bracelet would be a much-loved addition to my jewelry collection. The bracelet came packaged in a lovely box with the "O" from the Opera Bracelet logo embossed in foil on the top. Inside the box the bracelet was tucked into a brown organza bag, and a story card explaining the choices of charms and beads accompanied the bracelet. On one side of the box lid is a label identifying the item within--handy for anyone who will be storing their purchases in the original boxes. I'm very pleased with my purchase and look forward to adding other pieces to my collection soon.
